Heaven Promises a Home
Heaven is real and all that Scripture tells us about heaven should inspire and motivate us to share our faith with anyone who doesn’t know the truth and promises of heaven.
What is that truth? It is God dwelling with man and wiping away every tear. Heaven is a place where there is no death, no sorrow, no crying, or pain. In heaven everything is new—there’s a restoration of all things, and much more.
God Promises Himself
Jeremiah 31:33 and Ezekiel 37:26–28 make it clear that God wants to be among us. Revelation 21:3 fulfills those promises as He shows us His presence as never before. God himself will dwell with us forever.
God Promises Happiness
Revelation 21:4 tells us that God will wipe away every tear; there shall be no more death, sorrow, or crying. Pain and suffering will be gone eternally.
God Promises Hope
Revelation 21:5–6 says,
He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.”
Our hope is based on His absolute guarantee—these words are true and faithful—and if we have any questions, we can look at His absolute greatness as the Alpha and the Omega.
Paul wrote in Colossians 1:4–5, “We have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven” (NLT). God’s promises of heaven are reserved for you. They are set aside just for you. They give you hope, and that hope causes you to reach out in love for all of God’s people. It’s a calling based on His reserved promises and because it’s real God gives marching orders to His people to go, share, tell, preach and invite others to come to Jesus and live.
Do you call heaven home? If you don’t, we’d like to share with you about how it can be your home, eternally.
If you do know about heaven, how does it inspire and motivate you to share your faith?
