God’s Favor Leads to Life Change

In Ephesians 1, the Apostle Paul is essentially saying, “God, I’m praying that they would see that you’re nuts about them. Lord, I want them to know the hope that they have in Christ, the happy anticipation of a good future. Lord, I want them to know that they are gloriously precious to You and You see them as an inheritance.” This is God’s  favor. This is how God’s favor causes our lives to change. God loves us, we have incredible hope and an eternal future. We are precious in God’s sight and He sees us as an inheritance! When we truly know this in our hearts, it leads to personal change.

God gives us His favor so that our life changes. He doesn’t give it to us so that we live the same mundane life; the favor of God is bestowed upon us who are in Christ so that our lives can be conformed into the image of Jesus, so that we can reflect His glory, so that we can experience every spiritual blessing that He has given us in heavenly places. That’s life change!

We are so valuable to God. God so loved you and me, and valued us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us and to pay the price for our sin.  Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” That’s God’s favor that leads to life change!

God wants you to understand this: You are loved by Him so much that He sent Jesus. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done or how bad you’ve been. He loves you. He will accept you, He will forgive you, He will cleanse you, He will adopt you, He will make you His own. That’s how valuable you are to Him and when we realize that incredible value, our life changes, forever!

Pastor Jim Cymbala points out in his book, The Life God Blesses, that God is constantly searching for people to bless. That’s His favor in action and it’s available to us when we realize how valuable and how loved we are by the God of the universe.

Are you listening? Are you ready for life change? Seek out His favor and come to Him.
