Living Abundantly

We’re talking about God’s favor and choosing to live a life that’s characterized by God’s favor.

Let me ask you a question: Has there ever been something in your heart that just says, “Man, it seems that there ought to be more to this life than just going to church and listening to the preacher?”

Here’s the answer: There is more to it! There is the favor of God. If you don’t know about it, haven’t realized it and aren’t walking in it, you’re muddling your way through your Christian experience with a little glimmer of hope. You can change that glimmer into a full-spectrum light show of hope. There is more and it’s wrapped up in the favor of God.

We’ve been saved by grace, but there is high favor and blessing that God has for your life so that you can live the abundant life that Jesus promised. Remember what He said in John 10:10, I have come that they may have life. . . .

Something tells me that Jesus heard the Father saying, “Wait, wait, my son. Add a little more to it, Jesus.” Jesus says, “And not only life but life more abundantly.” Then the Father says, “That’s the whole message.” I have come that you might have life and life more abundantly. The abundant life is found in and realizing the favor of God.

You have life. You’ve been made alive in Jesus. But what about abundant life? What about more? Please don’t think I’m talking about money and materialism. I’m not. I’m talking about more of Him. That is abundant life. It’s not money or big houses, it’s more of Him. It’s opening our hearts to Him. It’s being available to Him. When we seek more of Him, that opens the door to being highly favored of God and realizing it in our lives.

Have you realized that in Christ you are highly favored? Do you realize that you’re blessed with every spiritual blessing? Do you realize and know in your heart that God wants you to have an abundant life? Or, are you just thinking you are saved by grace and going to do the best you can until you get to heaven?

2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” God is looking for people who live for Him and realize His favor.

YOU are highly favored. Every believer in Jesus Christ has this opportunity of living the abundant life within the favor of God. Do you believe? Are you seeking more of Him?
